Dear Reader, As I type this there are men in my home demoing, hammering and painting. About two months ago we discovered a slow drip from our main shower that made its way into the kitchen ceiling below and the linen closet upstairs. What started as a small problem became a full repair project. No kitchen access, school starting this week, extra eating out (expensive and unhealthy!) and my brain is going a bit haywire. Here's what I've learned though. When the unexpected hits and life feels like too much, small daily habits can really keep you grounded. Not because they fix the "big problem" but because they give you a foundation to come back to. A little order in the chaos. A little sense of control. When the daily small stuff is already in place, the big stuff feels a little less crushing. Awhile back I put together 5 simple daily actions that help me stay grounded. Nothing complicated — just small doable habits that make life feel more manageable. I'm sharing it free today because this repair project reminded me how much I need them myself! → Grab the free Simplify Life Guide here Here's to finding calm in the middle of the chaos. 🌿 Warm wishes, Macie If someone forwarded this to you, please subscribe below.

I help busy families simplify their homes and lives by living with intention, creating simple systems and focusing on what matters most. Regular (but not too many) emails with real stories and practical tips.
Dear Reader, Lately I've been working on more in-home client organizing projects and there is something I keep seeing, no matter what type of home or household situation. The consistent problem? Too much stuff. Organizing without decluttering first simply doesn't work. You must get rid of things to create the breathing room to organize and build systems for what's left. I see it in every home I walk into. Available space buried under years of accumulation. Kitchen counters you can't see....
Dear Reader, My daughter came downstairs this evening and said "Mama, will you come see my room?" We were having a rare down day. Football on, a couple of naps, everyone doing their own thing. She had spent her time decorating her room for Halloween. She wrote "enter if you dare" on index cards for her door and taped mini tissue paper ghosts around her room. She used pre-cut pumpkin cards and letters to spell Pumpkin Spice on her wall. It was quite cute! Her excitement for Halloween got me...
Hi Reader, Here we are yet again with another home repair! Are you sick of me talking about these yet? LOL. Yesterday I walked downstairs to a small puddle underneath the fridge. After snapping at the dog thinking she'd had an accident I realized it was melting ice from the freezer. A compressor issue apparently. A repair guy arrived today and the good news, it's a clear fix. The bad news, it is expensive. Of course! But on the bright side? I now have a real reason to do a fridge deep clean...
